What is Agroecology?

Agriculture, ecology is a science, which uses the theory of ecological research, design, management and analysis system is in agricultural production, but also to protect. Agricultural research to the interaction of all components of the bio-physical, socio-technical systems and agriculture, and define the system as the fundamental unit of study, the mineral cycle, energy conversion , biological process and socio-economic relationships are reviewed as a whole interdisciplinary approach.
Agroecology refers to maintaining productive agriculture, support and optimize the efficiency of using local resources and to reduce adverse environmental and socio-economic impact of modern technology. In industrialized countries, modern agriculture, with the highest efficient technologies, the introduction of creating environmental and health issues, th
ey can not meet demand, producers and consumers. In developing countries, in addition to promotion of environmental degradation, modern agricultural technology to address the socio-economic conditions and needs, many poor farmers.

The challenge of modern agriculture has moved from a purely technical issues, including social, cultural, economic, in particular, is the environment. Agricultural production problems can not be divorced from the environment. In this sense, the new method of technology development is needed for agricultural needs of present and future generations will not consume natural resources. The Agro-ecological techniques is limited because it is more sensitive to the complexities of local agriculture and a wide performance standards,
including those with environmental sustainability, food security, economic viability, resource conservation and social justice, to increase production.

To implement the agro-ecological technology of technological needs change,
changes in agricultural policy, socio-economic changes, but above all a better understanding of the complex relationship between the long-term resources, people and the environment. To achieve this understanding, agriculture should be considered in the environmental and human-dominated socio-economic system. Cross-disciplinary framework of bio-physical sciences, ecology and other social sciences is essential. Provides a framework for agriculture, ecology, through the application of Eco-agro-ecosystem management theory, according to certain sources and socio-economic, and provide an interdisciplinary approach to the necessary connection.
