Darwin's theory

Darwin's theory of natural selection is an important milestone in the evolution and the origin of species. Before Charles Darwin, there are many scientists who say it is a species evolved from another species or ancestors. In those days, there is no scientific evidence to demonstrate the concept of evolution. It was in the 19th century Charles Darwin's theory of natural selection to expand, which is widely accepted by scientists and the general public.

Darwin's theory of natural selection

Charles Darwin conduct research on plants and animals in order to study the process of evolution. It is the study of birds in the Galapagos Pacific (east), which made him realize that the basic concept of evolution. He noted that the birds that live on different islands have slightly different characteristics. In a study to identify the various birds that Darwin's finches differ in shape and size of nossel.Differences in the laws relating to food available in certain areas. Contrary to this, there is one species of finches Darwin in South America is that the Galapagos species can evolve from the species found in South America

According to Darwin, species native finch after arriving in the islands scattered in different environmental conditions. In time, the anatomy of birds have been modified, of course, as an adaptation to the prevailing conditions. In simple terms, which has been modified to better access to food, increase the survival rate for reproduction. For example, half of finches that are more suitable for the use of thorny plants and have more opportunities to survive in the arid than the others. Good birds and reproduced, while those who can not adapt to the half-dead. This modification or adaptive trait may have evolved after several generations.

Like birds anatomically different from each other, is reproductive isolation, which causes a different species. Therefore, a new species of finch birds evolved from native species. Applying the concept of evolution of living things, Darwin argued that the individuals of the same species that showed variation among them. People who have favorable characteristics for life to survive and reproduce, and thus deliver the genetic material from one generation to another. Finally, after many generations, traits or genetic characteristics become more common. Thus, the evolution of the population consists of only the favorable characteristics.

Natural selection can be explained in the same way that the process of human creation by the breeder. In the case of cattle, used for more productive cattle. This gradual process discard unwanted characteristics. Similarly, natural selection does not include a lower species during the period of time, while for the species more adaptable.

The concept of evolution is totally different from Lamarck's theory of organic evolution (1801). In Darwin's theory of natural selection, saying that only selected those natural organisms best suited to particular environmental conditions and states of Lamarck's theory is that the environment that bring about changes in the organism. Natural selection is an important aspect in the process of evolution.Assist in the accumulation and preservation of beneficial mutations that increase the possibility of collective survival. After natural selection, Charles Darwin proposed the theory of survival of the fittest, in 1860.
